Bluesky’s website and app are still up struggling COO Rose Wang on Thursday after experiencing a service disruption Held responsible For a denial of service attack.
According to social network status pageThe problems began around 2:42 a.m. ET time on Thursday and have continued since then.

Currently, the BlueSky site and app will sometimes load slowly, and sometimes throw error messages.
For example, switching to a particular feed within the app displays a message that says “This feed is currently receiving high traffic and is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. Message from server: Rate limit reached.”
The issue is being seen with popular feeds like Discover or the official Bluesky team feed, although users may have their own private feeds launched.
Other times, such as when trying to visit a user’s profile, the site will simply display an error message, forcing you to refresh and try again.

Bluesky protocol engineer Brian Newbold commented nearby 3:46 AM ET, “Oops, our services are going really rough tonight.”
The company has not officially shared what caused the slowdown or provided any estimated time to fix it.
Bluesky has not yet responded to a request for comment.
The service disruptions are affecting BlueSky, but other communities running their infrastructure on the underlying protocol that powers the decentralized social network are up and running for the time being.
