Spotify is adding a new mode to its Phone app for those who like to listen to music on the go. The new running mode prompts songs based on different stages of the run, and selects tracks based on your preferences and pace.
Paying subscribers can find Running mode in the Fitness Hub, and select one of 25 presets. Users can choose their workout type from options like interval run, stationary run or pyramid, and customize the duration, beats per minute and the kind of music they want to listen to.

As well as playing songs, Running Mode can also create audio cues for different stages of your run. This feature currently only works in English.
The new mode takes advantage of the AI chops that Spotify has been testing as part of its Last Year Inspired Playlist. The streaming platform noted that many people use the feature to create lists of fitness and workout activities, and this new running mode was inspired by those comments.
Earlier this year the company had introduced fitness content fitness equipment manufacturer Peloton.
Running Mode arrives a few months after fitness app Strava Said Its record feature will no longer integrate Spotify within the app.
The feature is available to Premium users on iOS in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Sweden starting Wednesday.
