The latest ruling means Apple’s request to block the changes has been overturned, putting things back in developers’ favor and forcing the iPhone maker to keep its fee changes in place for at least some time.
The ultimate outcome of the case will determine whether Apple can charge a fee for purchases made outside its US App Store – and if so, how much.
In a post on xEpic celebrated the court’s decision in its favor latest filingWhich states, “Apple has failed to show good cause for maintaining our prior stay order. Apple has not demonstrated that any proceeding on remand would cause it irreparable harm if our decision were not stayed.”
In other words, the court did not agree that Apple would suffer serious harm if the App Store changes continued while the legal battle continued.
