White House Seema Caesar Tom Homan said on Wednesday that the Trump administration is considering possible changes in its immigration enforcement policy as it belongs to farm and hospitality workers.
In an interview on “Cuomo” of Newsnation, Homan said that people at the White House are talking about various policy solutions and hope that he can see a declaration soon.
“I know the Homeland Security Department, with the Labor Department, and the Department of Agriculture is now talking about policy changes,” Homan said. “I mean, the President’s committed: There will be no apology, but talking about talking in the White House, is there anything for the farm workers? Is there anything for hospitality?”
“So, we will see what comes out of it,” he said. “But people are talking about this: Is there anything that can be done? And I know they are talking now. And I hope something will come out soon, but we will see what is going on.”
“I don’t want to go beyond the President what I think is coming, or if anything is coming, but I know people are talking,” Homan said.
Homan said that immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) will work to fulfill whatever policy decides to proceed by the President.
He said, “I will not go beyond the President, what will this decision be.” “I can tell you this: I worked for six presidents … My job is to operate me within the structure provided by the administration.”
“If the President comes with a policy and says,” Okay, what we are going to do with farm workers here, “the snow will follow the policy,” Homan continued.
The Trump administration has sent mixed messages about its approach to immigration raids that affect farms and migrant farm workers.
