An unknown North Korean man crossed South Korea on Thursday with the help of Seoul’s army through a heavy mining land border. He was taken into custody after a crossing, According Joint Chief of Staff of South Korea.
The Joint Chief of Staff of South Korea said on Friday that the person was first seen on Thursday between 3 to 4 pm. The man did a lot during the day and was eventually approached by the South Korea’s army near the Korean Dimylitrated Zone.
South Korea’s Joint Chief of Staff said on Friday, “The Army identified the person with MDL, conducted tracking and monitoring,” According To DW. The army then “performed a standard guiding operation to secure safe custody.”
An inquiry will be done by the authorities in the crossing. The United Nations command was informed about the incident.
Thousands of people have fled from North Korea from South Korea after the peninsula during the war in the 1950s. The direct defects in South Korea are abnormal as the region is closely tracked by terrorists from both countries, filled with mines and filled with dense forests.
