Leavitt says Powell probe 'not necessarily dropped,' 'just under a different authority'


White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt sought to signal Friday that Fed Chairman Jerome Powell is not under legal pressure, despite the Justice Department closing an investigation into his handling of renewals at the central bank. “The case is not necessarily being dropped,” Levitt said, pointing to a statement issued by Jeanine Pirro.
