As we enter the final month of the regular season, teams are starting to show us what they’re really made of and whether they’re playing a cut above the rest, and this week’s Top 25 is a great example as there were no new teams in or out for Week 11.
UCLA has remained on top all season, but one of the most impressive teams recently has been Kansas. The Jayhawks moved up five spots from 16th to No. 11 after wins over Nebraska and Kansas State – they scored a total of 46 runs last week, 18 of which came in a single against rival Kansas State.
Alabama slipped significantly from 13th to 24th after losing its weekend series to Tennessee and a midweek matchup to UAB.
Here’s the complete Top 25 as of April 27, along with our favorite moments and what we’re looking forward to in the week ahead.

top moment
Not much is going right for Tennessee this season, but this homer from Eric Hines is one of the best we’ve seen all season.
Oh my god… Eric Hines just sent a ball out of the stadium 🔥🔥

And depending on which side of the backyard brawl you’re on, it was either forgettable or long remembered.

player to watch
Von Lackey, C, Georgia Tech
That’s why ESPN’s Kiley McDaniels ranks Lackey so highly.

Right now, he ranks as a top three mlb draft prospects Since he is hitting .353/.482/.673 with 12 home runs and 49 RBI on the season. And he’s doing so while being on the same team with the equally impressive Drew Brees. Georgia Tech still faces some tests in the last month of the season, including a weekend series against top-25-ranked Boston College, so we’ll see if he keeps progressing.
game worth watching
No. 9 Coastal Carolina and No. 2 North Carolina
Tuesday 7pm (ACC Network)
Another hot midweek matchup! North Carolina has been in a lot of trouble lately, and if anything can push the Tar Heels above the UCLA Bruins in the top 25 rankings, it would be an impressive win over the Chants. UNC doesn’t have a very tough schedule the rest of the way until the ACC Tournament, so this will be one of its last chances to fully prove its case. Coastal has been playing consistently and in a similar situation and this is likely to be his toughest test until the postseason. With the game in Chapel Hill, the Tar Heels have a slight edge, but no matter what, it will be fun to watch.
