ashton daniels was officially named Florida State Starting quarterback on Tuesday after competing with Kevin Sperry This spring.
Daniel, a transfer from golden brown colorHe arrived in January with the expectation that he would eventually start, but Sperry worked him into more than 15 practices this spring. When the Seminoles finished practice last week, coach Mike Norvell said he wasn’t ready to name a starter yet.
Based on both his previous starting experience and the way he played in his last spring scrimmage, all signs pointed towards Daniels winning the job.
“I’m really happy with what he’s shown, being able to stay in the pocket and make the ball,” Norvell said of Daniels last week. “I think he’s shown growth on vertical shots during the spring, and he’s made some [in] The scuffles that occurred the next day were right where they should have been. I mean, big plays that support big drives.”

Florida State is looking for continuity at the quarterback position after the transfer of DJ Uiagalelei (2024) tommy castellanos (2025) Each struggled in their respective seasons as starters.
Daniels started his career stanfordWhere he started for two seasons before moving to Auburn last season. Over his four-year career, Daniels has played in 37 career games with 23 starts, throwing for 4,783 yards and 24 touchdowns, while adding 1,397 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground.
