Canadian Minister Dominic Lab away on Sunday expressed optimism about the possibilities of a trade deal between the two countries for the US-Canada trade-even President Trump announced that he would impose 35 percent tariffs on goods from the neighboring country.
“We were clearly, clearly disappointed with that decision. We believe that there is a major basis of two strong economies working simultaneously between the United States and Canada in terms of building two strong economies.”
Labwank spent last week in Washington, DC tried to hammer a business deal. Trump, after announcing a new tariff on Canadian goods not covered by the United States-Maxico-Canada Agreement, Trump had a conversation in his first term by Trump.
But Labbank praised his counterparts, American business representative Jaimison Greer and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutynik, for his efforts, he said that he is “engaged in creative, cordial conversation with us, so we are ready to stick and work around.”

Labwank said that he hopes that Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will talk to Trump in the coming days.
He said, “I hope that the Prime Minister must have interacted with the President in the next days. This is definitely my plan, again with Secretary Lootnik, assuming that we feel that there is an option to strike a deal that will bring some of these tariffs down, give more certainty to invest,” he said in the interview.
LeBbank said Canada passed a similar bill for the US President’s agenda-setting “One Big, Beautiful Bill”, which was signed by Trump in the law a month ago. Leblanc said that the Canadian bill is estimated to unlock in investment in Canada to $ 500 billion, which will “also provide big opportunities for American businesses.”
