Spur Intelligence, a cybersecurity startup based in Lake Mary, Florida, has raised $200 million in funding led by Insight Partners.
Spur, which was founded in 2017 — five years before ChatGPT’s public launch — was prescient. The startup’s technology helps enterprises quickly differentiate legitimate human users from hidden bot traffic to help them identify fake users and threats.
“As sophisticated criminal VPNs, residential proxy networks, and anonymity infrastructures proliferate, organizations are increasingly dealing with a critical blind spot: They can see the activity, but not the infrastructure behind it,” Insightly’s Thomas Crain said in a written statement.
Of course, detecting malicious traffic has been a challenge for corporate security teams for centuries. But the attack being made on them today cannot be compared to anything.
