Eating fewer protein-rich foods may harm our physical function as we grow older

Researchers have found that consuming low amounts of protein-rich foods can have negative effects on physical functioning as people age, underscoring the important role of protein in maintaining mobility and muscle strength into adulthood. In a large aging cohort study published in the journal Nutrients, researchers reported that regular dietary habits, particularly consumption of protein-rich foods, may affect how well individuals walk and perform daily activities later in life.
