Nvidia is now requiring its customers in China to pay in full for its H200 AI chips, even as approval stateside and from Beijing remains uncertain. Reuters reportedCiting unknown sources.
The report says that the chip maker is not leaving any room for refund or change in the order.
Reuters reported that although some customers may be allowed to use commercial insurance or property collateral, the terms are far stricter than Nvidia’s previous policies, which sometimes allowed partial deposits.
Nvidia declined to comment.
China is expected to allow Nvidia to sell its H200 chips in the country, Per BloombergHowever, Beijing wants to prevent the use of the chips by its military, state-owned firms and over sensitive infrastructure concerns.
