Flights were delayed and canceled globally after Airbus ordered repairs on 6,000 of its A320 series planes. According to The Guardian,

Citing industry sources, Reuters report The incident in question was a JetBlue flight from Cancún, Mexico, to Newark, New Jersey on October 30, in which the plane suddenly lost altitude and had to make an emergency landing in Tampa.
The Federal Aviation Administration has reportedly issued an emergency airworthiness directive asking affected planes to revert to older software before flying again. Airbus said a small subset would need to replace their hardware.
