Stellantis teams up with Pony.ai to develop robotaxis in Europe 

Automaker Stellantis and Chinese autonomous vehicle company Pony.ai have signed a non-binding agreement to build robotaxis for deployment in Europe.

The collaboration will integrate Pony’s self-driving software into Stellantis’ electric medium-sized van platform, which is built with advanced sensors to support autonomous vehicles.

The companies plan to first deploy a test vehicle based on the Peugeot e-Traveller model. Testing will begin in the coming months at Pony’s European headquarters in Luxembourg, with plans to pilot the vehicles in more European cities starting in 2026.

This collaboration comes a few months after Pony was announced Partnership with Uber For deployment in international markets including Europe and the Middle East. This also comes after the company received an autonomous vehicle testing permit from Luxembourg in April.

As Pony.ai works to expand beyond its existing markets in China and build market share in Europe, the company is also pursuing a second IPO. Already listed on Nasdaq, Pony is also working on Secondary listing on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong,
