Apple plans to overhale its vision Pro VR glasses to focus on developing AI smart glasses competing with products from meta, according to a new report. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg,
Although the company was developing a cheaper and lighter version of its vision Pro, Apple is carrying employees from that project to work on smart glasses.
Bloomberg reports that tech giants are developing at least two types of smart glass. The first model, named N50, will pair with an iPhone and will not perform its own performance. Apple has allegedly planned to unveil these smart glasses as next year and release them in 2027.
The second version of Smart Glasses on which the company is working, includes a display. These will compete with glasses Meta Ray-Ban DisplayWhich was unveiled last month. While Apple planned to release this version of its smart glasses in 2028, the company is now working to accelerate development.
Despite its recent changes in the focus, Apple is behind the meta, which launched its first smart glasses in 2021.
