More than a reflex: How the spine shapes sex

For decades, it was thought that the brain revolves the male sexual behavior – attractive, girlfriend, and sexual intercourse – the spinal cord only carried out the final act: ejaculation. But a study by The Champalimod Foundation (CF) challenges that tight division. It suggests that a major spinal circuit is not only involved in ejaculation, but also in stimulation and adds a stunning new dimension to our understanding of sexual behavior in mammals.
