Apple is set to release its upcoming iPhone 17 series on 19 September in most countries around the world. However, ESIM-Only iPhone Air’s Release in China is delayed, possibly due to regulatory issues around the approval of embedded SIM.
Apple Website Note that all three Chinese state -owned network providers, China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom, will offer ESIM support for iPhone Air, but say the release time will be subject to regulatory approval. Pre-order for other new phones in line-up start on Friday.
As South China Morning PostApple told the local media that he was working with the regulatory authorities to bring the iPhone air to China as soon as possible. The report mentions a post by China Mobile on the social network Weibo, stating that the network has enabled ESIM services for mobile phones, although a launch date was not mentioned.
China Telecom posted on Rednote about starting its ESIM service on 19 September, when the iPhone 17 line should be released. However, the post has been removed, SCMP noted.
Apple did not immediately return the request for comment.
