Ten-time WNBA All-Star brittany griner Is finalizing a seven-figure deal to join the connecticut sunSources confirmed this to ESPN on Friday.
The move comes as the Suns prepare for their final season in Connecticut before the franchise relocates to Houston in 2027. Griner, 35, is a Houston native and played collegiately at Baylor.
The terms of the agreement are unknown. Sun sideline reporter Terika Foster-Brasby first reported the deal.
Griner will join a team that is building around a young core including Connecticut draftees Leila Lacan, sanya rivers And anissa morrow Also recently acquired players diamond miller And Aaliyah Edwards.
Griner, a 6-foot-9 center, is a six-time All-WNBA and seven-time All-Defensive Team selection, a two-time Defensive Player of the Year, an eight-time block leader and a two-time scoring champion.

She missed the 2022 campaign after being wrongfully detained in Russia for nearly 10 months.
