US taking drone lessons from Russia-Ukraine war

According to the Pentagon Chief Technology Officer, the Trump administration is taking a page from Ukraine’s playbook, when it comes to drone war.

Defense Secretary for Research and Engineering, Emil Michael said that Russia’s Ukraine has shown a new trajectory of war more than three years of attack, a one who is learning from the US and the rest of the world.

“When you look at Ukraine and Russia, it is more likely that the trajectory of war where the front lines are not humans and tanks; the front lines are machine and robots that combat each other. And this is a big lesson,” he told Mills Hayes of Newsnapping.

Michael was speaking to Indiana during the Technology Ready Experiment (TREX) event-A day performance of state-of-the-art military technology in which defense companies and engineers test war technology prototypes to American military leaders.

The Trump administration is using such events how to quickly equip soldiers with small, easily replaced drones, an action that struggles compared to the choice of opponents including China, Russia and Iran.

While the United States has mastered the development of large, complex and expensive unmanned aircraft such as hunters and reaper, its industrial base has struggled to struggle to produce small, cheap drones who have come to define struggles in Ukraine and Middle East.

But Michael said that Pentagon has learned some things from the Russia-Ukraine war, including that it is more in the form of defense companies as warriors, which they call “innovation loops”, or will need to adjust drone technology to fit the current conflict.

“These drones are turning into capabilities every three to four weeks, which is shocking, right?” Michael said, referring to the development of new drone types of Ukraine and strategy in war, which includes flock abilities – forcing both sides to develop counterers and optimize their strategies.

“Warfighters, people who are actually operating these drones are actually improving them. They are writing software in some cases. They are saying,” Well, what will happen if we do so? ” And they are experimenting at the lowest level of war, “he said.” This is a new way to think. “

On——under-splotting is a departure from the specific route of a large arms system that is being given to American soldiers, who are trained to use them prematurely.

Michael said, “Now we are going to rely on the war to be a part of the innovation loop. And the same war in Ukraine and Russia has taught us,” Michael said.

Drone is the new front line of modern conflicts, which specializes in the war of Russia in Ukraine and Israel’s struggles in the Middle East.

It was on a complete performance in June with Ukraine’s Operation Spiderweb. In the operation, Kiev smuggled hundreds of small drones inside Russia for a coordinated strike for months, which destroyed 40 Russian warfare aircraft on five airbases across the country.

Drones also make a large amount of casualties in Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian cities and have increased rapidly since the beginning of this year.
