Hiker dies after venomous bite from 'most dangerous' snake in Tennessee

Gundi County, Tenn. ,WKRN) – A hicker died after cutting by a toxic snake in Tennessi State Park last week.

The Disease Control and Prevention Center (CDC) estimates that the US has an annual toxic snakes between 7,000 and 8,000 people. Five die every year.

Common toxic snakes in the US include rattlesnakes, copperhead snakes, water mockasin and coral snakes according to the CDC.

The Gundundi County Emergency Management Agency in its email, reiterated that the hikers or those who re -prepare in areas with potentially dangerous wildlife, bring the first medical kit or emergency supply.

“If you face a snake, just remain calm and don’t try to handle it,” the emergency management agency wrote. “If you want immediate medical attention.”

The Savez Gulf is maintained and operated by the Tenasi State Parks and sits within the South Cumberland State Park. It extends about 16,000 acres of land in Gundundi and Sexwachi counties. The Savez Gulf has attractions ranging from waterfalls with sandstone rocks and picturesque gorge to wildflower. Visitors can increase, swim, rock climb and camp within the park.
