Megha Ganne def. Brooke Biermann at U.S. Women’s Amateur

Bandon, Ore.-Megha Gane accidentally won three direct holes against Brook Burman and never severely threatened as she won her first USGA title with 4-and-3 win in American women’s amateur on Sunday.

Three times when Burman won a hole in the afternoon, Gane replied to stay up 4 with a shirt and made only a few time before winning. Burman accepted holes on top of green twice and in the afternoon. He never put any pressure on singing.

“Brooke did not make it easy on me. He showed a lot of fighting,” said Gane. “It is possible that my last woman is amateur, and I really wanted to complete it really.”

Gane, who started his senior year in Stanford next month, has chased the USGA title for almost a decade. She reached the semi -finals of American woman amateur in 2019 at the age of 15, losing in Albane Walenguela in 19 Hole.

He almost did not get a chance on Bandon Dunes.
