Toronto – Ben shelton Rally won the National Bank Open on Thursday night for the third and biggest title of his youth career on Thursday night, defeating 11th -ced Karen Khachanov Russia 6-7 (5), 6-4, 7-6 (3).
22-year-old Shelton, in fourth place, became the first American winner at the Masters 1000 Hard-Court event since Andy Rodic in 2003. Shelton also won the hard court in Tokyo in 2023 and Clay in Houston last year.
According to ESPN Research, Shelton is also going to win any Masters 1000 titles, as Rodik won Miami in 2004, when he was 21, according to ESPN Research.
Shelton will proceed to one place for a career-high sixth in the world. After the second seed, he did 16 aces against Khachanov in one night. Taylor fritz 6-4, 6-3 in an all-American semi-final match.
