House speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) Visited Jerusalem on Sunday after postponing Israel’s visit early this year on Sunday.
Johnson was seen in footage to join a group of House Republicans to visit the western wall in Jerusalem and meet with Israeli officials.
Johnson said in a video posted on Instagram by the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, “This is a time for us to live here, to come here.
“Our prayer is that America will always stand with Israel and we will do – we pray for the protection and peace of Jerusalem. This scripture asks us to do. It is a matter of belief for us and we have a commitment,” he said.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gidon Sire shared a picture on Johnson’s social platform X and Rape Michael McCall (R-Texas) and other House Republican’s social platform X.
