President Trump on Thursday selected Jay Clayton, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, to lead the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), following weeks of turmoil after the President appointed Bill Pulte to act as acting director. “Few people anywhere in the legal community are respected at Jay’s level,” Trump said.
