Bills hit ‘reset button’ with Keon Coleman, say best yet to come

Buffalo, NY — Bills President of football operations and general manager Brandon Beane continues his public support for the wide receiver Keon Coleman In the days following the 2026 NFL Draft, local radio station WGR-550 was reported on Monday that Buffalo turned down a few teams that reached out to Coleman for trade interest in him earlier this offseason.

Bean said, “We had some people connected with us in Indy, at least one team was there, and there were some meetings between there and the owners. But we shut them down.” “Our intention is to get Keon here, and so I think that’s kind of over with. So, there will be no call this weekend.

“… We’ve hit the reset button with him, and hopefully the fan base and everyone is behind him. I think his best years are still to come in 2026.”

The 33rd pick in the 2024 NFL Draft is out on a voluntary basis for the team this offseason. Beane and coach Joe Brady, who was Coleman’s offensive coordinator the last two seasons, have been highly complimentary of his work this month and have been consistent in their messages of support for the receiver.

“Keone, it’s not a show,” Beane said Friday while discussing the wide receiver group. “We’re excited about Keon, and he, the first few weeks here have been very, very positive. And I think you guys will see it in time, and be proud of what he’s done.”

The team used a fourth-round pick this year on a UConn wide receiver skylar bell To add to a receiver room that also includes dj moore, Khalil Shakir And joshua palmer.

Coleman, 22, was the subject of outside trade speculation earlier this offseason following team owner Terry Pegula’s comments following the firing of coach Sean McDermott. Pegula said it was the coaching staff, not Beane, who pressured him to take Coleman. However, the GM has stated that even though the order of player priority on the board may have varied between the personnel and coaching sides of the organization, he still made the selection.

The receiver had two inconsistent seasons with the Bills. The Florida State alumnus was disciplined by McDermott for arriving late to a meeting in November and was healthy scratched for four games. He was kept out for a quarter of the games in the opening season due to timing problems off the field.

By the end of the 2025 season, Coleman was Buffalo’s sixth wide receiver. Coleman had 38 catches for 404 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games last season.

“I told Keon, ‘Just take advantage of this offseason, establish a relationship with Josh and work with him,'” Brady said last week. “And he came back, you forget how big he is, man. And really excited. He’s put in a lot of work.”
