The president of the University of Wisconsin System was removed by the Board of Regents in a unanimous vote Tuesday. Jay Rothman was fired from his position after four years in office in what Republican state Senate President Patrick Patrick described as a “gross partisan malicious act” in a statement to The Associated Press.
