atlanta-the hawks There are some unusual promotions planned for March 16: They’re paying tribute to Atlanta’s famous strip club Magic City.
To celebrate the “iconic cultural institution,” the Hawks are planning a night full of food — including the club’s famous Lemon Pepper Wings — as well as music and exclusive merchandise.
The opponent that night? orlando magicAbsolutely.
“After the work we did to bring together ‘Magic City: An American Fantasy,’ this collaboration and theme night is very meaningful to me,” said Hawks principal owner, filmmaker and actor Jami Gertz. “The iconic Atlanta institution has had such an incredible impact on our city and its unique culture.”
Gertz was one of the producers of a five-part STARZ documentary, “Magic City: An American Fantasy”, which explored the history of the club and its place in both hip-hop and black culture. The Hawks are also bringing out Atlanta native TI to perform at halftime, and there will be a special live pregame recording of a podcast about the club and its impact on music, culture and sports.
Magic City will offer two versions of Lemon Pepper Wings, including one named for former Hawks guard Lou Williams.
TI said: “We’re doing this for the city… the Magic City.”
