Kent State did the unthinkable last week. After pushing LSU to the lead in Baton Rouge in a midweek matchup, the Golden Flashes took that momentum with them into Knoxville and won a road series against Tennessee. And as a result, the Vols suffered a major drop in this week’s rankings, falling seven places to No. 20.
How will the Walls react? Well, they face the top team in the country at UCLA on Friday, so they will need to bounce back quickly. The Bruins and the four teams behind them remained stable in the rankings after impressive performances, but more changes followed.
Overall a tough week for TCU. After losing its midweek game to UT Arlington, it lost to UCLA in Los Angeles, giving the Horned Frogs an 11-ranked loss. The biggest gainers of the week were Southern Miss and Oklahoma, which moved up eight spots. Louisville dropped out of the rankings entirely, clearing the way for Ole Miss to drop to No. 25.

Flora is moving up the draft board for good reason. Junior, who has Kylie McDaniel No. 4 in his MLB draft rankingshit 100 MPH in his debut in 2026 and has kept the heat on ever since. Does he have enough potential to overtake Cholowski for the No. 1 pick? We will just have to wait and see.

We couldn’t get enough of these early top-ranked series, and an in-state series makes it even better. Miami has been solid to start the season, and although the ‘Canes are behind Florida, they have posted a perfect 7-0 record for the year, while the Gators have already lost one game. Florida will have to be ready for Miami’s Alex Sosa, who has been dominant so far this season with five home runs and 17 RBI. And if that wasn’t big enough of a task, right behind him is Daniel Cuvette, who has five homers to go with 13 RBI himself. It looks to be a high-scoring affair in Coral Gables this weekend.
