Adelaide, Australia — Anthony Kim won LIV Golf Adelaide for his first win in almost 16 years on Sunday, capping a remarkable career comeback with a 9-under 63 by three shots.
The 40-year-old American took a 12-year hiatus from competitive golf after struggling with drug and alcohol abuse. They needed to play a qualifying tournament last month to get another season on the LIV Tour.
“It’s really crazy for this to happen,” Kim said. “I just want to thank everyone who has supported me.”
Playing in shorts in front of a large crowd on a sunny day at The Grange Golf Club, Kim made four consecutive birdies on Nos. 12 to 15, hitting putts of 17, 11, 14 and 17 feet.
He holed a 15-footer on the par-4 17th to take a three-stroke lead heading into the final hole and enjoyed the support of a large crowd as he strolled down the fairway on the 18th.
He missed a 20-foot birdie attempt, falling one stroke short of the course record to complete his first win since the 2010 Houston Open.

“I was able to produce some good golf today, and I knew it was coming,” said Kim, a three-time PGA Tour winner whose previous best LIV finish was 25th. “Nobody needs to believe in me except me. And, you’ll do anything for anyone who’s struggling.”
Kim reached as high as world number six in 2008 – the year he played on the US Ryder Cup-winning team. He played six times on the Asian Tour last year and made four cuts, culminating with a tie for fifth at the Saudi International.
DeChambeau had a score of 74 and finished third Tyrell Hatton (67) And peter uihlein (68) at 17 under.
All-Australian Ripper team cameron smith, lucas herbert, Marc Leishman And elvis smiley – Riyad won on their tour debut last week – winning for the second week in a row and also in Adelaide for the second time.
Rahm’s Legion XIII team finished second and Kim led 4Aces to third place.
