“You can’t sit with us” isn’t just a quote from “Mean Girls”… it’s apparently a very real rule in Congress… and Rep. sarah jacobs Says she had to use it IRL!
TMZ caught up with the Democratic California Congresswoman in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, and she spilled the tea on Capitol Hill, which is basically a giant high school… with cliques and cool kids and informal rules.
Watch the video… She takes us on an underground Congressional Subway train and explains that the lack of assigned seats on the House floor doesn’t mean you can stop anywhere you want… because groups like “Penn Corners” and “California Row” have already shut down their informal spaces like school cafeterias.
Yes, the rules are so strict that she says she literally had to tell a newbie to get up and leave the same day.
Sarah also goes into full yearbook mode, explaining how Congress mirrors high school in every way – orientation for new members, dorm rooms, lottery-style office tasks for clubs to join, the whole deal. So if high school was your peak? Congratulations…there’s a sequel on Capitol Hill!
