20 people charged with rigging college, overseas basketball games


More than a dozen people have been indicted by federal authorities for an alleged scheme to rig college and foreign basketball games, according to court documents unsealed Thursday. The federal indictment filed in Philadelphia cites charges of conspiracy to commit “sports competition bribery” and wire fraud, naming more than 20 people who defrauded officials.
