Eagan, Minn.– minnesota vikings RECEIVER jordan addison He was arrested Monday morning and charged with misdemeanor battery in Tampa, Florida, according to police records.
This is his third foray into law enforcement after the Vikings selected him No. 23 in the 2023 draft.
This week’s arrest became public Tuesday morning, shortly before Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and coach Kevin O’Connell were to give their annual end-of-season news conference. Both said they only recently became aware of the incident and declined to speculate on the organization’s response.
Addison is eligible for a contract extension this spring, and the Vikings’ No. 3 receiver – jalen nailer – Is a pending free agent.
“Jordan is unique because 99% of the days when Jordan is an Edison Viking, he’s a joy to be around,” Adofo-Mensah said. “He’s incredibly intelligent, confident, responsible. And then it’s like all of us: What do you like about those 1% days? Is that the type of thing that gets attention or not? Obviously that’s something we have to consider when you’re talking about the long-term impact of a contract extension and different things like that, or talking about someone like Jalen Naylor leaving.
“Obviously we’ll have those conversations. It’s just a few days into the season and obviously this incident just happened. But Jordan always supports Addison. We’ll continue to fact-find and see exactly what happened, and then we’ll have those conversations in the future.”
Addison was arrested at 3:46 a.m. ET Monday at an address associated with the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s records. He was booked into the jail at 7:33 a.m. and charged with trespassing into an occupied structure or vehicle, a first-degree misdemeanor.
He posted $500 bond and was released at 2:40 p.m. Monday
A spokesman for the Seminole Indian Police, which made the arrest, said they did not yet know further details about the circumstances.
Edison representatives at Younger & Associates said attorneys are investigating the incident.
“On Jordan’s behalf, his legal team has already begun an investigation, has identified witnesses and we are reviewing the feasibility of a false arrest claim,” Edison’s agency said on X.
In July 2023, Edison was Cited for driving 140 mph On a Minnesota freeway. He agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of speeding, with a charge of reckless driving dismissed. He paid a fine of $686.
