Commanders’ Marshon Lattimore arrested on possible weapon charges

According to police, Lattimore was arrested after a traffic stop in Lakewood, Ohio, at 6:14 pm on Wednesday. A case was registered against him and he was sent to jail but he was later released. The investigation of the matter is ongoing.

The police report, which lists the 9mm Glock as evidence, lists a second possible charge of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

In a statement, commanders said, “We have been made aware of the arrest and are gathering more information. We have notified the NFL league office and have no further comment at this time.”

He was also arrested in Cleveland in March 2021 and initially charged with felony receiving a stolen gun. The felony charge was later dismissed but Lattimore pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon, a misdemeanor. He received a year’s probation and a 180-day suspended jail sentence.

Lattimore spent the last season and a half with the Commanders, who acquired him in a trade New Orleans Saints Last season. He played only five games with Washington, including the playoffs, due to a hamstring injury.

Lattimore tore his ACL on November 3 and missed the remainder of the season. Washington could save $18.5 million by releasing Lattimore.

New Orleans drafted the 29-year-old Lattimore in the first round of the 2017 draft. He made four Pro Bowls with the Saints.
