“We will not be coming back to this spot,” Prescott said Tuesday as the 6-8-1 Cowboys prepared for their game against them. Washington Commanders On Christmas.
“I feel like the last few times I said that there were playoff losses,” Prescott said. “Each year has its own troubles. Each year has its own ups, downs, downs and everything inside of that. The importance is to control what you can do… I’m going to do my best, control what I can and as you get older, I think having more input, more say and being asked more questions of the front office. Maybe there’s something else I can do, and it’s not physically or my It’s not about getting better at the game. Maybe it’s speaking out that will help or I think it can help. Whatever it is, I’m going to do my best once again and make sure that I’m influencing and encouraging not just the players, but everyone around me to do the same.”
Prescott has no desire to sit out the final two games. He would not even allow a reporter to complete a question about the possibility of sitting.
“Absolutely not,” he said, “especially at Christmas.”
He said he would fight coach Brian Schottenheimer if a decision was made to protect the Cowboys’ most valuable player.
“Especially right now, going into this game, getting a chance to play on Christmas Day, for the first time, and also the fact of being away from my family,” he said. “If I don’t get a chance to play this game and do something I love at a high level I’m not trying to be away from my family [and] Finishing off a good individual season, I guess you could say, strong… fifteen games under the belt, I’d like to make it 17.”
Prescott was Named to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday For the fourth time in his career. He has thrown for 4,175 yards with 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
“My success, that appreciation is 100% shared with every single person in there,” Prescott said of the locker room. “It’s great to be a Pro Bowler but at the end of the day, that’s not what we’re going for.”
