Kendall agreed to a six-year deal until the 2031 season. His official announcement will be made at a press conference on Monday.
Candle finished 81-44 with two MAC titles in 10 seasons at Toledo. He led the Rockets to victory in his first game as head coach in the 2015 season, the Boca Raton Bowl. Toledo was 8-4 this season and is awaiting a bowl assignment.

Sources told ESPN’s Pete Thamel that Kendall, 46, has been a top target of UConn’s pursuit from the beginning.
Mora is coming off of nine consecutive winning seasons at UConn, including one without one since 2007. Mora led UConn to three bowl seasons in his four years there; The school had played in only one bowl game in the previous 11 seasons.
