
A mobile lounge crashed at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) on Monday afternoon, sending 18 people to the hospital.
Crystal Nosal, part of the media relations office for the Metro Washington Airports Authority (MWAA), told The Hill that at about 4:30 p.m., the lounge, while carrying passengers to Concourse D, hit a dock at an angle while approaching the building. MWAA oversees IAD and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Nosal said passengers descended the lounge via stairs and were evaluated by MWAA fire and rescue personnel. The fire department took 18 people, as reported by Nosal
“Non-life-threatening injuries” at a local hospital.
He said the IAD, located in Loudoun and Fairfax counties in Virginia, is open and operating normally.
