Senate Democrats emerged from a two-and-a-half-hour caucus meeting Sunday night indicating they will have enough votes in the Senate to reopen the federal government after a bruising 40-day shutdown.
A group of centrist Democrats led by Senator Angus King (Maine), an independent caucus with the Democrats, and Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) negotiated a deal to reopen the government with Republicans in the Senate Appropriations Committee led by Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine).
The Senate is expected to vote Sunday evening on whether to advance a bill to end the shutdown.
Here is the bill text of the proposed continuing resolution to end the government shutdown. Voting is taking place in the Senate on Sunday night.
