
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said Thursday she is “very impressed” with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) “ability to get things done.” announced She will not contest elections again.
“I will admire Nancy Pelosi, she had an incredible career for her party,” Greene said. Said On CNN’s “The Situation Room.”
“I served under him during his first term in Congress, and I’m very impressed by his ability to get things done. I wish we could do things for our party the way Nancy Pelosi was able to do for hers. So, I wish him well in his retirement, but I’d like to see people get out of Washington sooner rather than waiting until the eighties.”

Greene’s cordial words about the former speaker are notable, as she has historically gone after Democrats with harsh comments. Georgia Republicans have also been differences with one’s own party on health care, shutdowns and other matters in recent weeks.
On Wednesday, Green said he shouted at Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on the “absolute failure” to keep the lower House out of session.
“The fact that the House has been shut down for six weeks now is a complete failure,” Greene told NewsNation’s Blake Berman on “The Hill.”
“And this is on the Speaker of the House. While the rest of America is going to work every day, you’re going to work, people in this building are going to work, Mike Johnson is telling us to stay home and not do our jobs.”
