“Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill on Monday joked about President Trump building the franchise’s Death Star where the East Wing of the White House used to be.
“I feel really bad about it…” Hamill, best known for playing Luke Skywalker in the “Star Wars” franchise, said in a post on Monday social platform Blue sky.
Hamill’s post also included a photo of the White House, with the Death Star under construction visible right next to it. The “Star Wars” Icon Has a History going back Trump once called the president “crazy” and “dumb as a rock.”

The East Wing previously housed First Lady Melania Trump’s office, the White House Social Secretary and Calligrapher’s Office, a movie theater, and the Presidential Bunker.
Demolition of the East Wing Critics have expressed displeasure over leaving space for the Presidential Ballroom. Trump initially said the ballroom would be adjacent but “would not touch” the existing building.
The Washington Post editorial board on Saturday praised Trump’s controversial demolition of the East Wing.
The Post’s editorial board wrote, “The White House cannot simply become a museum of the past. Like America, it must evolve with the times to maintain its greatness. Strong leaders reject calcification. In this way, Trump’s undertaking is a jab at NIMBYs everywhere.”
Hill has contacted the White House for comment.
