
Young Republican National Federation calls for immediate resignation After Politico report on leaked group chat Which included racist, anti-Semitic and violent discussions.
The board of directors of the Young Republican National Federation said in a statement, “We are shocked by the disgusting and inexcusable language revealed in the Politico article published today. Such behavior is offensive, unbecoming of any Republican, and is in direct opposition to the values our movement represents.” Post on Instagram on Tuesday,
“Those involved should immediately resign all positions in their state and local Young Republican organizations. We must hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity, respect and professionalism.”
The messages obtained by POLITICO spanned more than seven months and were part of conversations between young Republican leaders in New York, Kansas, Arizona and Vermont.
According to a Politico report published Tuesday, members of a Telegram chat group titled “Restorer War Room” called black people “monkeys” and “watermelon people.” In the chats, they also discussed putting political rivals in gas chambers and sexually assaulting opponents, Politico reported.
According to the report, the chats also contained racial comments and allegedly said the rape was “epic”.
A White House official told POLITICO that the White House has no connection to the group chat and that hundreds of groups have asked the White House for its support.
Politico’s report also comes at a time of intense discussion about political violence in the wake of the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the assassination of a Minnesota lawmaker and assassination attempts on President Trump.
Virginia Democratic Attorney General candidate Jay Jones has come under increasing pressure to drop out of his race in the wake of leaked text messages. openly discussed violence directed towards Former Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert (R).
Many Republicans inside and outside of Virginia, including President Trump and Vice President Vance, have pressed for Jones to be ousted.
