Florida Associate Head Football Coach and Running Back Coach Jabbar Juluk was suspended for three matches to join a controversy in the Gaters Game. Agitation On Saturday, SEC and Florida jointly announced on Tuesday.
SEC Commissioner Greg Sanki said in a news release, “Jabbar reflects Juluke’s behavior during the pregem change that is unacceptable and not aligned with the standards of the South East Conference.” “Coaches are expected to be a leader and to increase stressful situations, and this did not happen in this situation. This suspension is appropriate, and any future misconduct by Jabbar Juluke will result in more serious disciplinary action.”
Juluk will recall the next three matches of Florida – number 4 in Miami, number 8 against Texas at home and number 10 at Texas A&M. Juluk, a native of New Orleans, released the following statements through SEC office:
“I, first, would like to apologize to both Florida and LSU universities, their teams, employees and fans. I also honestly apologize to the young athlete and their family. On Saturday, I reacted in such a way that I did not proud. There is no excuse for my behavior and I take full responsibility for this game.
“I know that we are expected more as a coach, and I am committed to live for that expectation. I believe that development is good and evil ownership and learning. I use this situation not only for myself, but for those people, but also for those institutions and employees and families.”
The video showed the players in several scuffle during the pregem warm -up at the Tiger Stadium, but Juluk’s direct participation was not clear from the SEC news release. No punishment was assessed before the game. LSU won Florida from 1–2 to 20–10.
Juluke has coached the gates back since 2022 and followed Florida coach Billy Napier from Louisiana, where they worked together from 2018 to 2021. Juluk also coached Running Back at LSU in 2016. His suspension is another significant shock for Napier, whose job safety has become a question for the second season.
Napier said in a statement, “The action of coach Juluk before our game against LSU is not even the standard of our program.” “Coach Juluk is a person of character and he has taken full responsibility for his actions. I believe that coach Juluk will learn from this experience and be better for it.”
Florida Athletic Director Scott Strikritin also released a statement on Tuesday evening.
Strikin said, “Jabbar has been a member of our employees continuously, and I appreciate him for accepting responsibility in this situation,” Strikin said. “We will continue to support him as he works to meet the high standards we set for his program.”
