Maggi Haberman, a correspondent at New York Times White House, said on Friday that President Trump and the employees around him were “struggling” after the death of Consumer activist Charlie Kirk.
“Many people around President Trump are very close to Charlie Kirk. President Trump Charlie Kirk was very close. And President Trump faced two murders attempts last year,” he said during an appearance on CNN’s “The Source” on Friday.
“And so all this is a lot for how the White House and the President’s people are responding to it. I think he is struggling with how to deal with it,” he said.
Kirk’s deadly shooting has been resumed at social sites for the last four days as the online debate has come to light about who was convicted for his assassination.
The founder of the turning point USA was shot in the neck in front of a crowd of around 3,000 on Wednesday and later died.
Vice President Vance, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) And other GOP leaders have mourned the loss in a series of positions and statements by sharing personal memories with Kirk.
His living wife, Erica, said he did not sleep in the days after his death, but promised to continue Kirk’s work through his turning point USA organization.
Haberman said that while Trump would probably not be “clear things”, he is experiencing pain due to the passage of Kirk in fashion like his close confidant.
Earlier this week, Trump described Kirk as a “huge of his generation”.
