Richland, wash. , Los angels angels Minor Legier Rio Foster was in critical condition after a car accident on Friday morning.
Angels stated that Foster was involved in a car accident and outfielder “is receiving medical care in a local hospital and remains in a critical condition.”
Foster plays for Hi-A TRAI-City Dust Devils in Pasco. TRAI-City canceled its game against Hillsboro on Friday night.
Dust Devils posted on social media, “The entire Dust Devils’ views and prayers are with Rio Foster, who was a passenger in a car accident this morning.”
The 22-year-old Foster was a 16th round pick in the 2023 draft from Florence-Darlington Technical College in South Carolina. He is batting with 10 Homer and 40 RBI this season. 267 and was the Northwest League Player of the Month for August.
“We are praying for the best – all this we can do,” Angels interim manager Ray Montgomery said before the game of Friday night against athletics. “Unfortunately, I’m working on limited [information] … I know what it is clearly more important than what we are doing here today.
“I am thinking only about him and his family. He is a great child. We were in spring training. He was later a little bit of a round draft pick, and he has done some good things. We saw him in spring training, and he was named. [Northwest League] Player of the Month recently, so his career is in a good place. ,
