
General Motors (GM) is recalling more than 23,000 Chevrolet Carvet due to a fuel leakage issue, As National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
It was discovered that it was revealed that the excess fuel could spread to the pocket of the fuel-filler of cars during fuel filling, possibly leaking to an ignition source and could increase the risk of fire.
The defect was tied to four alleged fire, identified by the GM’s investigation, involved with two “involved evidence that the filling station was a malfunction in the pump and caused fuel spread at the time of the incident.”
NHTSA reported that recall includes Carvet models from 2023 to 2025. The auto agency said that about 0.1 percent of the withdrawn vehicles have faults.
As part of recall, the dealers will insert a shield to remove fuel, according to NHTSA.
General Motors Told the road and track It “focuses on the additional fuel spilage issue during fuel filling.”
A GM spokesperson said, “This is a rare event, and the Statching Filling Station Pump appears to be a contribution factor. Security of our customers is the highest priority for the entire GM team, and we are working to measure the matter as soon as possible.”
