Greeneville, Tenn. – A Tenasi man with the same name New York Yankis Legendary Babe Ruth has faced allegations that he used the names of hundreds of dead or retired pro baseball players to claim Phoni for payment in class action settlements.
George Harman Ruth is accused of 91 cases in the prosecution submitted to the US District Court in Greenville, Tennessee, on August 12, the US Attorney Office announced later last week. Morristown’s 69 -year -old is accused of having firearm after mail fraud, increased identity theft, use of fraud of social security numbers, money laundering, making wrong statements to his probation officer and holding firefighters after being convicted of already guilty of hooliganism.

The prosecution does not list the names of the players that Ruth claimed, but it describes some of them. Some played for defending teams such as Philadelphia athletics, St. Louis Brown and Canus City Packers.
A public defender representing Ruth refused to comment on the allegations.
Ruth had earlier convicted a plan for social security fraud in an Indiana federal court. In 2020, he was sentenced to jail before going on probation from October 2023 to July 2025, showing court records.
