President Trump congratulated Ukrainian President Volodimier Zelansky on the country’s Independence Day, said in a letter that Americans believe in Ukraine’s future and respect their people’s sacrifices.
Trump said in a letter, “Dear Mr. President: On behalf of the American people, I congratulate and warmly to the courageous people of Ukraine. Post on social platform x Sunday morning.
“The people of Ukraine have an unbreakable feeling, and your country’s courage inspires many people. As you mark this important day, know that the United States respects your fight, respects your sacrifices, and believes as an independent nation in your future,” Trump’s letter continued.
This letter comes when Trump has demanded a conversation for the war between Russia and Ukraine. Trump met Zelancesi and Europe on Monday, three days after the Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted for a high-hand summit in Alaska.
While the President emerged from meetings with some speed towards negotiating a peace agreement, Russian authorities have indicated that the progress has slowed down and that the possibilities of a meeting between Zelancesi and Putin are not adjacent.
Trump reiterated his wish to end the war in his letter to Zelansky.
The US President wrote, “Now is the moment that is the moment to bring the end of insensitive murder. The United States supports the disposal of a conversation that leads to a durable, permanent peace that ends bloodshed and ends the safety measures of Ukraine’s sovereignty and dignity,” the US President wrote. “God Blass Ukraine.”
The Ukrainian leader thanked Trump “for your heartiest congratulations on Ukraine’s Independence Day” and thanked the US support.
“We appreciate your kind of words for Ukrainians, and we thank the United States for standing shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine that is the most valuable: freedom, freedom, and peace guarantees,” Zelansky wrote while responding to Trump’s letter. “We believe that by working together, we can end this war and achieve real peace for Ukraine.”
The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comments.
