WWE Elimination Chamber preview: Who will book their tickets to WrestleMania 42?

As a service to fans who have a general interest in WWE but may not have watched a match in several months, we are pleased to provide this FAQ as a guide to WWE Elimination Chamber on Saturday at 7PM ET on ESPN Unlimited from the United Center in Chicago.

How do Elimination Chamber matches work again?

This ring is surrounded by a massive steel structure, covering it from floor to metal roof. One might call this a “cell” where “hell” can occur, but here the Elimination Chamber is different from that other match: a glass booth positioned in each corner of the ring will house the four finalists. Like the Netflix dating show “Love Is Blind,” the glass containers are called “pods.” Unlike “Love Is Blind”, no one is expecting to meet their partner outside – only heartbreak.

There are six participants each in men’s and women’s competitions. Two wrestlers start in the ring and four inside the pod. At predetermined intervals before the match, the pods open one by one to field a new opponent. Fighters are eliminated via pinfall or submission. There are no disqualifications in Elimination Chamber, as CM Punk found out when “Eliminated” Seth Rollins hit his head to set up John Cena’s victory in the Chamber last year.

(Yes, it’s been a year since John Cena’s shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber. Where have you gone, Travis Scott?)

The winner of Elimination Chamber receives a championship match at WrestleMania 42. After Roman Reigns won the Royal Rumble in January, he selected World Heavyweight Champion Punk as his Mania opponent. On Monday’s episode of “Raw”, fellow Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan took on WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Walker. And by “selected” we mean Punched him hard in the face with a mike in his hand. Which always sounds great acoustically.

This means that the winner of the men’s Elimination Chamber match will wrestle for the Undisputed WWE Championship, which is currently held by Drew McIntyre, and the winner of the women’s Elimination Chamber match will get a chance at the WWE Women’s Championship, which is currently held by Jade Cargill.

Who is participating in the Women’s Elimination Chamber match?

For both matches, WWE held triple-threat qualification matches on “Raw” and “SmackDown” to determine the participants in the Elimination Chamber. The six women competing for the title shot are:

tiffany strattonWho defeated Chelsea Green and Lash Legend on the February 6 episode of “SmackDown”. Please remember that Cargill ended Stratton’s title reign of over 300 days with a victory at “Saturday Night’s Main Event” in November 2025.

Rhea RipleyWho defeated Ivy Nile and Lyra Valkyria on February 9 on “Raw”. Ripley has not held the WWE Women’s Championship since 2021, although her only reign lasted 379 days.

Alexa Bliss On the February 13 episode of SmackDown, the Women’s United States Champion defeated Giulia and Zelina to earn a spot in the match, pinning Zelina after Sister Abigail in the middle of the ring. Bliss is a three-time Women’s Championship holder.

asuka Defeated Bayley and Nattie three days later on “Raw” to earn their spot in the Chamber. Did you know that Asuka has never won a match at WrestleMania? Just throwing that out there.

kiana james Charlotte was a surprise entrant after upsetting both Flair and Nia Jax on the latest episode of “SmackDown”. While Flair was doing her bridge figure four, James slipped down and got a pin on Flair’s shoulders for the win, which was quite simple.

Raquel Rodriguez Defeated Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane for the final spot on Monday’s “Raw”. He is looking for his first WWE singles title. Rodriguez has been getting a push lately, and a power vs. power match against Cargill will be interesting. But never underestimate that these may be “tough times” again.

Who is participating in the men’s Elimination Chamber match?

Jai Uso Defeated El Grande Americano – the original version, not the new El Grande Americano (he’s a different guy) – and defeated Bronson Reed on Monday’s “Raw”, but Reed had to leave the match early due to tearing his biceps. Would Reed have won this match and earned an Elimination Chamber spot? The fact that they didn’t have a graphic ready for Uso’s win It is possible One has been told.

Randy Orton On February 6, in a tough “SmackDown” match against Aleister Black and Solo Sequoia, he won with an “Outta Nowhere” RKO on Sequoia as he had a Samoan Spike loaded. Please note that Orton later lost a match against Black on “SmackDown” when McIntyre attacked him over the head with a belt. Due to this, Cody Rhodes came forward to eliminate the champion. speaking of which …

cody rhodes Defeated Jacob Fatu and Sami Zayn in a match on the February 13 “SmackDown”, in which McIntyre interfered and tried to keep Rhodes out of the Elimination Chamber match by giving Zayn the win. Alas, Rhodes came back and pinned Sami.

jevon evans Defeated Gunther by pinning Intercontinental Champion Dominic Mysterio on the February 16 episode of “Raw”, which is probably the least painful way to defeat Gunther. Expect many cage-related high spots on Saturday from Evans, one of WWE’s best aerial performers.

trick williams Defeated Damian Priest and Carmelo Hayes last Friday on “SmackDown” as he seeks his first WWE singles title shot after years of NXT dominance.

la night On the February 9 episode of “Raw”, he won a match against Penta (the scary guy in the luchador mask) and Austin Theory (the slightly less scary guy in the black hoodie, now one of the only healthy members of The Vision).

We have Jey Uso’s “Yet,” Trick Williams’ “Whoop That Trick” and L.A. Knight’s “Yeah!” Is Elimination Chamber structurally strong enough to withstand a trio of such iconic spells?

Since this match is for the main event of WrestleMania and Rhodes is in the match, the expectation is that he will earn a title shot. But don’t underestimate Orton, who has ties to McIntyre. That’s a game of nostalgia – Orton hasn’t held a World Singles Championship since 2020.

If you think that’s a drought, consider that Finn Balor hasn’t won a world title since the WWE Universal Championship in 2016. That could change against CM Punk at Elimination Chamber.

Why is Punk defending the World Title against Balor?

Preview of CM Punk vs. Finn Balor at Elimination Chamber

Arda Okal previewed a huge match for the World Heavyweight Title between CM Punk and Finn Balor at Elimination Chamber in Chicago.

This is an elimination chamber chicago. It is illegal not to have “Second City St” CM Punk on the card.

But seriously, Balor earned this rematch against Punk after almost defeating the “Fighting Champion” on “Raw” in Belfast, Ireland in January. After the match, Punk raised Balor’s hand in acknowledgment of the effort.

Things turned sour after Balor was “rejected” from the 30-man Royal Rumble field, leading to him attacking Punk during his match with AJ Styles on “Raw”. Challenges were given. Balor announced that after Punk defeated him in his home country of Ireland, he would defeat Punk on his “home turf”. And a world championship match was made for Elimination Chamber.

Two things have to be kept in mind here. First of all, Punk has scheduled his WrestleMania match against Roman Reigns. Second, no one knows when Balor’s highly flammable stable, The Judgment Day, might finally explode.

Punk is not the only one in his family to win a championship match at Elimination Chamber. His wife AJ Lee is also going for Intercontinental gold.

The long awaited AJ Lee vs. Becky Lynch match has arrived

Arda Öcal previews WWE Women’s IC Title match

Arda Okal awaits the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship match between Becky Lynch and AJ Lee at Elimination Chamber.

He has it. The feud began last September when Lee returned to WWE for the first time in over a decade to help her man battle against WWE power couple Seth Rollins and Lynch. In a mixed tag team match at WWE Wrestlepalooza last September, Lee forced Lynch to submit with Black Widow.

Later, Lee distracted Lynch in a title match against Maxine Dupree on “Raw” at Madison Square Garden, causing Lynch to lose the Intercontinental title and a record 163-day reign. Lynch got completely caught in the maze, which revealed that, among other things, the “crooked” WWE referees were out to get her. Lynch and Lee’s next meeting took place in late November at Survivor Series: WarGames, when Lee again tapped Becky with Black Widow.

At this point, a desperate Lynch was desperate to finally be rid of Lee. Earlier this month, she challenged Lee to a match at Elimination Chamber. When Lee said she would only accept the match if Lynch presented the IC Title, Lynch said “No”, which prompted the WWE crowd to chant “Yes, Yes, Yes!” Yelling is a great way to motivate. Lynch eventually agreed and put the leash on the line to get her hands on her tormentor.

Of all the potential action on this card, the title match between an angry Lynch and trolling Lee could be the most satisfying – especially if Lee and Punk win the title matches on the card.

Did we mention that this event is being held in Chicago? just checking.
