Warriors waive Seth Curry but expect early-season return

San Francisco – The Golden State Warriors the guard is forgiven seth curry With the expectation that he will return to the team sometime in the first few months.

The move was necessary due to the Warriors lacking financial flexibility in the new salary cap environment. They are hard-capped on the second apron and just below that, so they can’t have an additional veteran minimum contract on their books until early November. Golden State’s 15th and final roster spot will remain vacant pending the guard’s expected return.

Seth, Stephen Curry‘s younger brother has spent the past few weeks working out at the team’s facility and on October’s only road trip, but he has been inactive for preseason games.

Seth Curry began his 11-year career with the franchise’s G League program in Santa Cruz, but then deliberately chose to forge his professional path elsewhere – across 10 NBA teams – out of his brother’s shadow.

Its shooting has been quite successful. The younger Curry brother has made 945 career 3s at a 43.3% clip, the seventh-highest percentage in league history.

This summer, Seth decided it was the right time to join forces with Steph, who had long hoped to play with his brother on the NBA stage. There will be delays, but even after this procedural relaxation, a plan is in place.
