Representative Suhas Subramaniam (D-W.) said that he supports Democrats threatened If the Republicans proceed with a planned rescue package to close the government, their party should use all the benefits that they can do to prevent already approved funding cuts.
Subramanyam said in an interview on “The Hill Sunday” by Subramanyam, “I say it is time for American people to stand up.”
“It doesn’t matter whether you are a Democrat or Republican. I mean, I am listening to both sides. They are fed up with this administration, and they want to see some changes, not only in this administration, but also at the Democratic Party,” they continued.
“And, therefore, yes, of course, the time to fight was yesterday,” he said.
Republicans are Reduce efforts To pass a rescue package which was requested by President Trump last month, including more than $ 9 billion in funding cuts for foreign aid and public broadcasting programs.
However, the push faces staunch opposition from Democrats, arguing that the efforts of the Executive Branch to reduce the previous funding decisions made by the Congress on bipartisan basis can further destroy the trust between the two sides in the current dialogue.
And they are warning that the efforts threatened the government to fund the government before the September shutdown deadline.
Subramanyam said that he feels that these important Democrats now use the leverage they have.
He said, “We need to continue to ensure that when we have a leverage – we have some time benefits – we have to use it,” he said. “And we have to attack a hard bargaining and not only bend in the last minute.”
“And so, I think we should fight,” he said.
