Scott said in a statement, “The hateful statements made in this group chat are abhorrent and unacceptable. The disgusting, racist, bigoted and anti-Semitic dialogue that has been reported is extremely disturbing. There is no excuse for it.” Tuesday’s statement,
He said, “Those involved should immediately resign their roles and leave the Republican Party – including Vermont State Senator Sam Douglas.”

As Politico reports, when one chat member discussed a friend of one of the other chatters being in a relationship for some time with “this very fat Indian woman”, another responded, calling the woman “not Indian”.
According to Politico, Douglas responded, “She didn’t bathe often.”
The messages obtained by POLITICO spanned more than seven months and were part of conversations between young Republican leaders in New York, Kansas, Arizona and Vermont.
According to a Politico report published Tuesday, members of a Telegram chat group titled “Restorer War Room” called black people “monkeys” and “watermelon people.” In the chats, they also discussed putting political rivals in gas chambers and sexually assaulting opponents, Politico reported.
According to the report, the chats also contained racial comments and allegedly said the rape was “epic”.
A White House official told POLITICO that the White House has no connection to the group chat and that hundreds of groups have asked the White House for its support.
